Emirates Park Zoo has announced the return of the sea lions to Abu Dhabi’s largest private zoo and to celebrate, it invites customers to enjoy an educational presentation about the vivacious sea mammals. Get a better understanding of the ecology of the sea lion and learn the role that humans play in preserving the species, whose existence has recently come under threat.
Participating in conservation projects is nothing new for Emirates Park Zoo, its recent campaign to raise awareness on animal trafficking and abuse came om the back of the zoo’s rescue of four cheetah cubs that were smuggled into the country to be sold as pets, treating them for malnourishment and feline leukaemia. The sea lion presentation carries on the zoo’s dedication to education, teaching about these intelligent creatures, their method of adaptation, behaviour, characteristics and of the ecosystem and effective conservation techniques.Dr. Waleed Sha’aban, Emirates Park Resort’s Zoo Operations Manager said: “We are very happy to present our guests with an invaluable session of sea lions and continue to raise awareness.”
The sea lion attraction launched in March, and, as well as an educational experience, you can conclude your visit with an exclusive photoshoot. The sea lion tickets are priced at AED30. While learning about the sea lions and welcoming them back to the zoo is reason enough to visit, there are countless other attractions to enjoy, including the giraffe park, mammal cave, hippo house, camel farm, snake alley, bonnet water tank and mandrill monkey house, not to mention the elephant enclosure, which has been a star attraction. Emirates Park Zoo and Resort also boasts seven cafes and a recently refurbished restaurant, giving you a selection of culinary choices during your visit. For those staying at the resort, each room is equipped with air conditioning, wireless Internet and satellite TV as well as a private balcony, giving you a spectacular view across the resort.
